The two things I love above everything else is learning and teaching. Nothing gives me a kick like when I finally master something I have been working on for a long time. Or when a student has a been able to do quicker progress than me because he/she avoided repeating my mistakes.
And speaking of mistakes... I have done a bunch of them and still do them. But I have learned to live with them, and actually I am starting to like some of them (and I am not speaking about my kids, don't get any ideas now ;) ). My teaching is often focused towards having people realize solutions are closer at hand than they thought. Weaknesses can be turned into advantages!

if placing your thump on the surface of the neck makes you uncomfortable then you’re probably doing it wrong.
From the correct thumb position to the “lazy” one. Please don’t advise people on how to play.
Nope that’s fake
Hehe, how and why?
Nice scalloped fretboard
I love it 🤩
Excellence
❤️👊
I'll be experimenting this today...ty I'm always learning from you.
Go 👊❤️
I've been taught the other way(thumb behind neck), but keep reverting back to thumb over...
Wow! Nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
Lurvly!😊
Big thanks!
These videos are going to blow up
I’ll share your videos with all of my guitar friends
You are too kind man ❤️❤️❤️
Dude these videos are insane and super helpful
My school does something called cafe jam we’re students create bands and play in the cafeteria and I think I’m going to use as many tricks you’ve shown us next cafe jam
There’s are sick
A lot call this "The Springboard."
Thanks a million ❤️❤️❤️
I've never liked scalloped frets, but I won't hate on another for enjoying them! 😎
That’s the spirit 😅
Thanks so much for your support ❤ tabs on my patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/111328832
Actually wicked
🙏❤️
Awesome as always ! Kris do a video where you explain how you improvise over a Key during a backtrack. have been following you since those " thinhsgs to play when you suck" and yeah I still suck at playing over a backtrack after 15 years.
I might be able to help if you can tell me more specifically what you struggle with :) But for me, something groundbreaking was just listening through john mayer albums and trying play along with the vocal melodies. It's such a great exercise because youre forced to use your ear to guide you actoss the fretboard, so it helped me to fix the issue of feeling like i was playing scales rather than music.
Cool request, watch this space 👊
First one much better
I fully expected the master of puppets first solo at the end
Sounds like seek and destroy
😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

Epic!!! 🎉👏
Thanks mate 👊❤️
That’s EXQUISITE picking technique my fellow guitarist.
❤️❤️❤️
Dude this is tasty. I'm so glad you're back. Is there a lesson available anywhere with this lick?
Unfortunately not, but I do this quite a bit in my Hybrid Legato course 👊❤️
This solo is amazing one of the best I’ve ever heard
❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
Looks like a good warm up, Im gonna use it.
Go go go!!
Very subtle but yes
14:38 trick with edge of fret is amazing. Something that someone might consider a mistake and try to avoid, you've turned into a unique lick that I haven't seen anyone else do. I think you talked about it in another short as well. 👌🙏💪
Cheers, yes do that mistake often enough - then realise you cannot live without it 😅
The second sounds better
Boss GT1000 does this without the volume knob. It’s cool! Check it out
Bro you got into skits 😂 love it
😁
Same audio
ahh, most people don't realize but there has been a conspiracy amongst manufacturer's for decades. Apparently guitar amp manufacturer's have been incorrectly labeling their tone knob as volume instead.
😅
I find that you need to press a little harder to get a chugging tone, but if you want it to ring just that tiny bit more, you press it lightly. It's an important distinction to make, as it could change the sound of a song drastically
Agreed, details make a big difference!
You're awesome 😮
❤️❤️❤️
You're a badass 😮
Too kind pal 👊❤️
Remember watching your videos when i began playing guitar back in 2008. Glad to see you are still here. Hope life's treating you well! Greetings from Greece!
Good to hear from you man! Still playing? Its always great to hear from an old-timer 🤩
Random question: you used to play a Parker Nitefly years ago, do you still have it
I do yes! I don’t play it as often, but occasionally jam away on it to revive old memories 🤩
You should break it back out for a video @@KristoferDahl
Can't believe he wore the same shirt for 140 days, that's dedication 😎
I always wear this shirt 😅
Volume knob is the ultimate tool I love how on Van Helen's frankenstrat he had the volume knob replaced with a tone knob, as it is more accurate that way
The Sirens Songs - Parkway drive 😂😅
Man you pentatonic for sure you do ❤
❤️👊
Dumb. The 'bad' bend unplugged, the 'good' bending through an over driven amp/simulator with a rythm track .. Gee, I wonder why the 'good' bending sounds better and fuller. Just dumb. Yet another channel I'll be ignoring...:)
This is not about how the bend sounds - its about the execution of the technique
Mute the string after bending up .is a new one on me😊
Its awesome for bluesrock 😎
Sweet! Easy tip and tremendously useful. Preciate it man
👊❤️
Hybrid picking
What's this?
I cant hear the difference to be honest
that pickguard ooooooooh and that tone. ooooooh
Hehe thanks mate, and I can only agree 🤩
Kris, thanks for the video. You encouraged me to try hybrid picking for the first time in my life. Of course, not to try to become a virtuoso like you, but it helped me for the first time to think I found a way to play my favorite guitar riff-Tush by ZZ Top. I tried a few different methods, and I think the solution was eluding me because I didn't know hybrid picking. I also think La Grange was played with hybrid picking.
Awesome to hear 👊❤️ and I agree about La Grange
Thought it was a ringtone 💀
